Why I would(n’t) use social media less

By MaryLou

Social media have became a part of our everyday lives. Everyone has an account on a social medium. Globally, millions of people spend hours upon hours chatting on Instagram or Facebook. Personally, I spend two hours per day chatting or seeing what others are up to.

A lot of people believe that social media are time wasting and dangerous. It’s true that there are a lot of more helpful and important things that we could do instead of scrolling on social media. We could read books or spend more time studying. On school days I finish my homework and then I log on Instagram. I understand why some people believe that social media are dangerous and even harmful in some situations. especially for young kids who can be easily tricked by someone older. This is dangerous because the other person could still a lot of personal information such as address, phone number or even Bank codes.

On the other hand social media can help someone find new friends as you can see what the others like and you can chat with them. Furthermore, they can inform you because you can follow newspapers or magazines. You can socialize and find a lot of interesting and funny things to watch. With 2 hours per day I can do all of these and also have time for studying.

In conclusion social media have both advantages and disadvantages but when you use them in the right way without getting addicted they are interesting or even helpful.

Why I would take up a new hobby

By M.

Today spare time for young people is precious, so I recommend that every young person should take up a hobby.

A good idea is to begin a sport such as a team sport, like football, basketball or volleyball. Or an individual sport, like swimming, archery or horse riding. You are going to be healthier and in good physical condition.

Another idea is to go to some art lessons. For example sculptury, painting, wood carving or ceramics. So you can express yourself artistically.

You can also practice on learning other languages so you can communicate when you are going to go to another country to study or to travel.

In my opinion those are some of the best ways to spent your personal spare time as you are young.

Why I would(n’t) climb to the top of a mountain

By MaryLou

Climbing to the top of a mountain might be very impressive but it is very difficult too.
There are a lot of things that you have to know and be prepared for. Personally, I believe
that it is very dangerous and very difficult too and i would never do it.
At first , it is a very different and unusual experience from which you can learn a lot of
things. You can learn to cooperate with others and to survive in very bad conditions with
little oxygen, food and water. Furthermore, all your friends will be proud of you and you
will have an unforgettable experience.
However , to achieve this ,you have to be athletic ,to be trained and have good physical
condition. You have to be able to walk up even with less oxygen. Few would disagree
that the worst is that you only have just a little food and water .
Another factor we should take into consideration is that if you hurt yourself you have
only a little medical equipment with you. If you have a serious injury you have to go
down in some way if you will be able to.
In conclusion, there is no doubt that it would be an unforgettable experience but i do not
like that kind of adventure. As i said with my ideas above ideas i find it very dangerous
and difficult and i would never try to climb to the top of a mountain!

Why I wouldn’t climb to the top of a mountain

By Evan

I know that a lot of people love climbing mountains but personally I don’t find it fascinating at all. I can understand why some people like it so much but I find it really difficult.

First of all, you have to be very athletic because it’s a very difficult sport. You need to carry a lot of things like food and medical supplies.  The higher you go, the less oxygen you have so you can’t breathe easily. You should also be very careful, especially during the descent.

On the other hand, when you manage to reach a summit you feel like you can do anything you want. I know that the view from up there is outstanding.Generally, I don’t like taking risks or doing extreme sports. That’s why I wouldn’t climb to the top of a mountain.
